Class of 2017 members sought for Community Foundation’s Youth Philanthropy Initiative
Applications are now being accepted from members of Knox County high school classes of 2017 (current freshmen) to replace this year’s graduating seniors on the Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI). To learn more about YPI and to apply prior to the Friday, May 9 deadline, please visit the Youth Philanthropy Initiative page on the Community Foundation of Mount Vernon & Knox County website.
This year YPI members, representing five Knox County high schools, awarded more than $12,000 to support youth-focused programs in the community. The entire grant-making process is youth-driven using transferable community fundraising and grant-making skills acquired through participation in the program.
The complete list of current YPI members is available on the Youth Philanthropy Initiative web page. Questions about participation in the program can be addressed to any current member or to Community Foundation Executive Director Sam Barone at [email protected], or by calling 392-3270 during regular business hours.
