Before applying for a grant through the Knox County Foundation, please review both the FAQs and Guidelines for Grantmaking for helpful information on the grantmaking process. Below are descriptions for the Small, Major, and Youth Philanthropy Initiative grants. All grant applications are accessed through the Knox County Foundation Online Grant Portal.

Please note: Knox County Foundation will only accept applications through its Online Grant Portal for all deadlines AFTER December 1, 2020.

Small Grants

Organizations seeking funding for projects $5,000 or less are invited to complete the Small Grant Application. Applications are due for consideration on February 1, April 1, June 1, August 1, October 1, and December 1.

 

 

Major Grants

Organizations seeking funding for projects over $5,000 are invited to complete the Major Grant Application. Applications are due for consideration on January 15th and July 15th.

 

 

Youth Philanthropy Initiative Grant

Organizations seeking funding for projects $5,000 or less which address the needs of Knox County youth, age 0 to 18, are invited to complete the Youth Philanthropy Initiative Application, which will be reviewed by local high school students involved in the Knox County Foundation Youth Philanthropy Initiative. In addition, high school students are invited to apply for a student-led charitable project up to $500, which can be either school or community-based. Applications are due December 31st each year.
