In addition to the Universal Scholarship Application (for students attending or planning to attend, a two- or four-year college) Knox County Foundation offers Career and Technical Education (CTE) scholarships. These are available to residents of Knox County who are attending, or will attend, an occupational training program of two-years or less at an accredited vocational school, technical school, community college, or junior college. DO NOT USE THIS APPLICATION FOR ASSOCIATE’S DEGREE PROGRAMS. All associate’s degrees and higher must use the universal scholarship application available at knoxcf.awardspring.com.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be a Knox County resident
- Submit your Pre-Admittance testing scores
- Submit your Post-Secondary Financing Plan (provided by your school)
- Provide a copy of the Submission Summary of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Complete (and sign) the Career and Technical Education Scholarship Application in full
Applications are available year-round with the following deadlines:
JANUARY 15: For Spring/Summer Consideration
APRIL 15: For Summer/Fall Consideration
JULY 15: For Fall/Winter Consideration
OCTOBER 15: For Winter/Spring Consideration
Application Process:
The Career and Technical Scholarship Application is available as a fillable PDF. Students are asked to type the application (if they are able), not to exceed the space provided, and to submit all materials at the same time as the application. All requirement documents must be received by the deadline dates listed above for the corresponding consideration period.
Applications will be reviewed by a volunteer scholarship committee with decisions being made within three weeks following the deadline dates. It is important to answer all questions completely for the scholarship committee to fully understand a student’s career aspirations and need for a scholarship.
Scholarship Awards:
Students will receive mail and/or email notification of a Knox County Foundation Vocational Scholarship. Award amounts will vary depending upon cost of a program, need, funds available, and other factors. Upon notification, students must verify their educational institution and enrollment date. All scholarship funds will be sent directly to the school on the students’ behalf.
