An important component of the Ariel-Foundation Park master plan is the restoration of the C.A.&C. (Columbus, Akron & Cleveland) Railroad Depot on Columbus Road. Most recently functioning as the Station Break Senior Center, the depot will serve as the Welcome Center for Ariel-Foundation Park at the junction of the Kokosing Gap Trail and the Heart of Ohio Trail. C.A.&C. Project Manager and Foundation Park Conservancy Secretary Michael Percy expects the project to be ready for occupancy by Spring 2014, or sooner, depending upon fundraising progress. To date the eastern facade of the depot has been returned to its original state, electrical work has been completed in most areas, and ceiling replacement is in progress, as pictured here, in what will be the visitors center. Individuals interested in supporting the C.A.& C. Depot project may contact Percy (397-7488) or Conservancy Treasurer Clint Bailey (397-4040). All contributions are tax deductible.
